Hey guys! Phew! What a way to end the week. This week was so full of emotions that I hardly know where to begin. There were definitely highs and lows, but now that it is over, it feels so worth it! I really understood Ginny's comments today about pressure and stress. I started to analyze the things that have been going on in my life lately and had to re-evaluate some of the things that I thought were stress. They really turned out to be pressure and I was turning them into stressful situations. I decided to make my day less about the stress and just try to put MPM into my daily life. It's not that I wasn't doing that before, but I felt STRESSED every day to get my 5 contacts. (Refer to the blog a few days ago about the almost-speeding ticket :)). Once I let go of those stresses, I just felt more calm.
I stopped into a gas station today to get a coke and a group of hurricane relief workers were taking a break. there are still clean-up crews from all over the country here to get after the devastation of Hurricane Ike. Of course, the coastal areas were hit the hardest, but even in the Northern areas of Houston, there is still clean-up to do. As I walked by to get inside the store, they all smiled and said hello. I stopped myself from just walking by and saying hello. I stopped and asked them if they would do me a favor. Once the ice was broken, the rest came easy. Out of the 10, 4 of them said they wouldn't be able to check their Internet until they returned home, but the other 6 were like, "sure, I can look at it." And what do you know - 6 contacts in 10 minutes! I did take all of their contact information and the 4 others gave me their info as well, but I'll save it for a few months down the road, so that they can get THEIR lives back to normal. When I follow up with the 6, I'll make sure to emphasize the impact that a World Changer Mall can have on them and the people they help. It was a great day folks, and I really feel as if things are on the right track. Do I have one World Changer a day? No. But am I taking the necessary steps to make that a possibility? Yes.

Stuck at home today :(
You know it's funny...if you had asked me two weeks ago if I would be excited about talking to strangers, I would have told you to go jump in the lake. But now, only just a little over a week in this Reality Boot Camp, I was REALLY bummed to have to spend all day in the house and not go out and meet people. We are having shutters installed on our windows, so who gets to be there - mommy! but I did make use of the time and tried to follow up with all of the people that I have contacted about this opportunity as well as call a few others and get the contacts for today.
I'll reference the blog yesterday about my parents. We were talking today about what to do about their "situation" and I believe we have found a solution to their "rent challenges". They are going to move into a rental house of my husbands, that is vacant. They won't have to pay for rent, but their utilities/food/gas/medicines/etc. might be covered by their Social Security, and it might not. So I started to tell my dad about My Power Mall and all of the wonderful things it has to offer and the incentives (i.e. gas rebates). He is 67 years old, so some of the technical stuff was a little over his head, but he does have email and access to a computer, so I think he's going to set up a WCM, just for these great perks that come with it! And then it hit me! Sometimes the idea of starting a "business" can be quite daunting for some people, but saving money on gas every month is a little easier to handle for the psyche. I think if we can break it down for people, the answer yes will become more frequent.
Anyway, no really funny stories today, just gathered my 5 and followed up with the others. I'll be out of the house tomorrow, so you never know what kind of adventures I'll run into! Gotta have fun people!

Week 2 has begun!
Well, listening to the call this morning was a little challenge, but I know once we all get into the habit, it will improve! I was very glad to hear about the new business partner idea, it seems to be another avenue to get WCMs! Now that I'm "back to reality" here in Texas, I was excited to hear about this part of the business. I am one of those people that "collects" business cards...you just never know when they will be needed, and wouldn't you know it, now's the time! I think it is a huge advantage also that either I have already spoken with them before about a business service or idea, or they have wanted me to use their services. We already have a relationship and all I'm going to do is let them know how I can help make their business better.
Now a little about me. This morning has been tough. Sometimes I feel as though I am pulled in 1000 different directions and everyone wants something from me. I know that everyone has their challenges and things they have to do, but wow it is just so tough.
For example, my parents are not in good health. My father has Cancer and my mother had kidney disease and goes on dialysis 3 days a week. Both of their prognoses are not good. My father has the attitude (like I would) that you have to live each day to the fullest and enjoy the time you have. My mother is different and she is more pessimistic and doesn't see the bright side of life. Not to sound mean, that's just the way she is. Last January, we sold their house and moved them into a retirement center, thinking that we would have a place for them to enjoy the little time they had left. The money they got from the sale pays their rent of $2800/month...it ran out last month. With their social security they can cover about 1/2 of the cost, with nothing left over for anything else. So of course, I have made up the difference + for these 2 months, even though I don't really know where the money came from! So for me, this boot camp will make a HUGE difference in my life. Right now, my stress level is code red!
I hate to make it sound like a pitty party for me, I do have wonderful things in my life too! My youngest son is 2 years old today - HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAYDEN! He and his brother Parker are truly the shining stars in my life and I thank G-d for them everyday.
So now onto getting my 5 + contacts for the day. Before I go out, I am going to read my magic beans pledge once more so that I can really believe in myself and know that I can do it.

Day 5 - it's really coming together, I think?
Well you all know how I'm on a family vacation until Sunday, so I thought it wouldn't be a problem, and it hasn't slowed me down a bit, but the internet connection was a different story!! After the call on Wednesday night, I was just sitting down to enter in my 5 contacts for the day and wouldn't you know it NO INTERNET!! After trying numerous fixes, still nothing. So after calling the front desk, I was informed that since the next day was Thanksgiving that they wouldn't be able to get to it until sometime Friday. Needless to say, I WAS FREAKING OUT! I had done my part and moved my beans, but I couldn't enter in any information. I didn't want Ginny or Jackie to think I was slacking or not following the rules. It really made me think about how much this opportunity means to me and what I was getting out of the experience. Not to mention, that reading the blogs everyday is something that I totally look forward to. So for the last 2 days, I have been going through withdrawal.
But now the problem seems to be fixed, so life is good again!
Well I was able to get my 5 contacts again today and it is just so much easier than the beginning of the week. I almost don't feel like the same scared person, I am definitely more confident walking up to a total stranger. I think also because I seem more relaxed people are more willing to give me their information. Before I was like "Um, I need your email, um oh and your phone number...but I won't sell your information or anything...it's this reality boot camp thing..." and I think people must have thought I was a crazy lady or something! But now, I sound more self-assure and instead of taking 4 hours to get a contact, I got all 5 in about an hour today. Also, I think that it is easier to tell someone about your foundation mall and what MPM stands for instead of "selling them".
Well, I'm off to watch "The Polar Express" with the boys and figure out what I'm going to do tomorrow to get my 5 people. I always try something new (a different store, calling contacts, etc.). I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and I'll write tomorrow!

Day 2 Better than Day 1
Hi All!! Well...day 2 was definitely better than day one! I was able to get the remaining 3 from day one AND get a new 5 by the evening conference call! YIPPEE! Although no one has yet to sign up for even a business mall...I at least know that I CAN CONTACT THESE PEOPLE. I know that I can do it and it really wasn't that hard (well not that bad anyway).
The 2 ladies I had mentioned yesterday were not there when I called today, but I did get a voice mail from one saying she wouldn't really be able to talk until tomorrow morning, so at least she got back to me. I am still committed to getting both of them to sign up at least for a free business mall.
After listening to the call this evening, something struck me that I thought I would mention about your "warm market". And on this note, I have a little confession to make...I didn't think I would be chosen for the Boot Camp and so I didn't think it was a big deal that I went on vacation this week...my family is on a vacation in Colorado for my mother-in-law's 60th birthday until Sunday!! So I have been away from home, away from a true land-line, away from my neighborhood, etc. since this all began. However, once I received the email last Saturday when I was boarding the plane, I VOWED that I would not let these obstacles slow me down and I would do whatever it took to meet and surpass the requirements that Ginny & Jacki had set to be a part of this Reality Boot Camp. Even in the line for the ski-lift today, I at least handed one of the attendants an invitation card; and although I didn't get his information (I didn't count it as one of the 5), I at least felt a little rush thinking that maybe he'll look at it? But back to the warm market...I KNEW that my location would be a challenge, so I started thinking about the people I could contact to get my 5 contacts for the day. What did I do besides hand out fliers on the ski lift and hotel lobby (which I met a great lady with out a computer but wanted to sign-up)? I went to my email/contact list. For every person that I had an email address for, I would check to see if I had their phone number. This includes personal friends, business contacts (from business cards), ebay buyers from the past (I have been selling on ebay for 7 years), etc. And what did I do? I picked up the phone and started dialing!
I had one previous ebay buyer that was a little confused at first, but then I explained that I was not trying to sell her anything, I just wanted to share some information with her about an opportunity I was a part of and that I could use her help. She lives in Texas and so she asked me if I was a Longhorn or an Aggie. For those of you not from Texas, this can make or break a conversation! Well I thought my chances were 50/50, so I told the truth...I was an Aggie, Class of '94. The response: "Well of course I'll look at what you've got to show me honey! You just send that little link over and I'll take a look at your site." BOOM! that was easy...I did also say to her that I was trying to help 10 people make $2000 a month over the next 60 days and her response, "Shoot, if you can make me $200 in the next 60 days, then you've got a deal!" To me this was exactly what Ginny was talking about, just finding what it will take for someone to become a part of your group and get them to their financial goals. Of course, with the late timing again, she has not signed up, but I think that tomorrow on Day 3, I will be able to follow-up with all of those people I have sent the link to and get some great results.

The night before it starts
Well it is the night before the beginning of the World Changer Reality Boot Camp and I AM NERVOUS!! Will I be as successful as I hope to be? Will I be able to do the things that Ginny asks? Will I be able to keep up with the other Boot Campers? Will I succeed? Will I fail? Of course I don't know those answers now, but that isn't stopping them from running through my head. I just feel so blessed to be included in this group and I just don't want to let anyone down. But I guess that's the point, right? I guess if I understand my fears and doubts, then all I have to do is not let them slow me down.
I started with MPM about 2 weeks ago, when I was on a social networking site for moms. I read a person's blog in which she mentioned MPM. I will usually click on others links, because really, you will never know what they have to offer. Well, when I watched Ginny's Presentation on the World Changer Mall, I had to sign up right away!
